Kinja'd!!!

I’m looking at a Turo Mazdaspeed3 for an upcoming trip to Portland, OR. I have always wanted to drive a gen1 ms3 and I really don’t want to deal with owning one, so this a great opportunity to try it out. I found it funny when looking at the reviews that someone was raving about the AWD the car had...

Thought y’all might enough this!

Also, just watched a long Lexus ad with a bunch of people in black suits. Something about aliens and crazy space weapons. Such a strange Lexus ad!

They got the 6 and 3 mixed up and assumed the extra grip from the LSD was AWD because they’re like me and have experienced neither?

All the wheels touch the ground. That's what all wheel drive means, right?

Youll like it. I had a n/a 3 stick and second did near 65, 3rd 85. The speed3 i drove was my wifes friends car. It has  a shorter second, cause 6 $peeds. The only gripe though. Otherwise it's just a ball.

Huh. Usually people mistake my MS6 for being FWD (same story when I had my 323 GTX).  Never heard of someone mistaking a MS3 for AWD.

Aren’t these cars known for their torque steer more than anything else? Ie a complete inability to get the power down

Yes absolutely, which is why I'm perplexed how someone could confuse that for awd. I even found the GTI to be kind of annoying due to that aspect, so I imagine the ms3 would only be worse. But I'd still find it fun nonetheless.

It made me doubletake and wonder if this was some highly modded custom thing but I'm pretty sure that guy is just an idiot.

There are some custom AWD MS3s out there, but I guarantee they’re not for rent on Turo lolol

FWIW for the longest time I actually thought the MS3 was AWD with a similar AWD system as the MS6. I now know better.

Im moreso confused because they actually have driven the car already and clearly enjoyed it enough to write a positive experience about it. I am still probably assuming too much of the general public I guess though lol.
